INSTALLATION OF PRESSED STEEL DOOR FRAMES AND WINDOWS
Fill the hollow space or door frames with cement mortar and allow it to set
before its taken for erection.
Place the door in position at correct height from finished floor level.
Plumb to ensure that frame
is upright, square and free from twists.
Pressed metal door frames are liable to develop bow in the heights or sag
in the widths either during fixing or during subsequent buildings work. To
avoid this, fix temporary struts across widths preventing sides bulging inwards
by the weight of wall or partitions.
Build the walls up solid on each side and grout each course so as to make
a solid contact with the steel door frame leaving no voids.
Do not remove temporary struts till brick work is set.
Clean well the surface of the frame and apply the final coat of paint, if
not painted with polyurethene coating already.
Steel doors & windows shall be stored in a level floor vertically resting
on edge with hinges clear off the another.
The door / window opening should be checked for the squareness and other dimensions
so as to have 20mm clearance on all sides for a smooth fixing of the same
with erection in dead plumb on either side vertically / horizontally.
Glazing / painting shall be the final process to be carried our after removing
the outside plaster if any from the surface.
